1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of services and purchase of products from SCOTIQ LTD (“we,” “us,” or “our”), a company registered in Scotland (Company Number: SC814689) with registered office at 5 South Charlotte Street, Edinburgh, Scotland, EH2 4AN.

- Event Catering Services
- Private Chef Services
2.2 Products
We offer:
- Made-to-order cakes, deserts and sweets
- Hampers containing locally sourced products including:
- Meats
- Fruits
- Vegetables
- Handmade items
3. Ordering and Payment
3.1 Order Acceptance
- All orders are subject to acceptance and availability
- We reserve the right to refuse any order
- Order confirmation will be sent via email
3.2 Service Booking
- All service bookings are subject to availability
- A 50% deposit is required to secure the booking
- The remaining 50% payment is due at least 1 day prior to the event
- Bookings are not confirmed until the deposit is received
- We reserve the right to cancel bookings if the final payment isn’t received on time
3.3 Payment
- All prices are in British Pounds Sterling (GBP)
- Payment is required in full at the time of ordering
- We accept payment via bank transfer
- Prices include VAT where applicable
4. Delivery and Collection
4.1 Delivery Area
- We currently deliver within Scotland
- Free delivery within 20 miles radius of Edinburgh
- Fixed delivery charges apply for locations beyond this radius £9.99
4.2 Delivery Times
- Delivery times are estimates only
- We will communicate specific delivery windows for catering services
- Hamper and cake deliveries will be arranged at time of order
5. Cancellations and Refunds Policy For Services
5.1 Service Booking Cancellations
5.1.1 Cancellation by Customer
- Within 14 days of booking (cooling-off period): Full refund of deposit if the event is more than 14 days away
- 14-30 days before the event: 50% deposit retained
- Less than 14 days before the event: Full deposit retained
- Less than 24 hours before the event: Full payment retained
5.1.2 Cancellation by SCOTIQ LTD
- Full refund provided if we cancel for any reason
- Additional compensation may apply if cancellation causes direct losses
- Alternative date offered where possible
5.2 Rescheduling
5.2.1 Customer Requested Rescheduling
- More than 14 days notice: Free rescheduling, subject to availability
- 7-14 days notice: £50 rescheduling fee
- Less than 7 days notice: £100 rescheduling fee
- Less than 48 hours notice: Treated as cancellation
5.2.2 Company Requested Rescheduling
- Free rescheduling offered
- Full refund option if new date unsuitable
- Compensation for any direct losses caused
5.3 Force Majeure Cancellations
- Deposit refunded less any incurred costs
- Option to reschedule at no additional charge
- No liability for consequential losses
6. Cancellations, Returns and Refunds For Product Purchases
6.1 Order Cancellations
Made-to-Order Products:
- Full refund if cancelled 48+ hours before scheduled delivery
- No refund if cancelled less than 48 hours before scheduled collection/delivery
Hampers:
- Full refund if cancelled 24+ hours before scheduled delivery
- No refund if cancelled less than 24 hours before scheduled collection/delivery
6.1 Refunds
We comply with UK Consumer Rights Act 2015:
- We will issue a full refund for products not as described
- We will issue a full refund for damaged products
- All refund requests will be processed within 14 days
- We will refund the original delivery charges for faulty items
- We will refund the return shipping cost for faulty items
6.2 Returns
Food Items:
- Cannot be returned for food safety reasons
- Quality issues must be reported within 24 hours of delivery
- Photographic evidence required for quality complaints
Non-Food Items in Hampers:
- Must be unused and in original packaging
- Return within 14 days of receipt
- Return postage at the customer’s expense unless the item is faulty
6.3 Food Safety and Quality
- All products are guaranteed fresh at delivery
- Temperature-sensitive items monitored during transport
- Delivery time and date noted on handover
- We cannot accept returns of food items for food safety reasons
- Quality issues must be reported within 24 hours of delivery
- Photographic evidence may be required for quality complaints
7. Liability
7.1 Our Liability
We are responsible for:
- Providing services with reasonable care and skill
- Ensuring products are of satisfactory quality
- Ensuring products are as described
- Complying with all applicable food safety regulations
7.2 Limitations of Liability
We are not liable for:
- Losses not caused by our breach
- Business losses
- Losses outside our reasonable control
- Failure to follow storage/handling instructions
8. Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays or failures caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including:
- Extreme weather conditions
- Public health emergencies
- Supplier failures
- Transportation disruptions
9. Intellectual Property
All content on our website and marketing materials, including:
- Logos
- Photographs
- Recipes
- Designs
are our intellectual property and may not be used without permission.
10. Data Protection
We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws.
11. Amendments
We reserve the right to update these Terms. Changes will be:
- Posted on our website
- Effective immediately for new customers
- Notified to existing customers
12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by Scottish law. Disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Scottish courts.
